International SEO
International SEO for businesses working across languages and markets
Running a site in more than one language or country brings problems a single-market site never faces: the wrong version showing in search, pages competing with their own translations, and keywords that do not carry across. We set up the structure, signals and content so each market sees the right page.

Who it is for
International SEO is designed for:
- Turkish companies expanding into the UK, and UK companies reaching Turkish-speaking customers.
- Sites with English and Turkish versions where Google shows searchers the wrong language.
- E-commerce and SaaS businesses adding new countries or currencies.
- Teams planning a multilingual site who want the structure right before launch.
Why it matters
Search engines need clear signals about which page is meant for which language and region. Hreflang annotations, consistent canonicals and a sensible URL structure tell them that your English and Turkish pages are alternatives to each other, not duplicates.
Language is only half the job. People in Istanbul and London often search for the same service with different words, different expectations and different trust signals. Each market needs its own keyword research and content that reads naturally, not a word-for-word translation.
What is included
International audit
Hreflang, canonicals, language detection, redirects and geotargeting checked across every version of your site.
URL structure advice
A recommendation on subfolders, subdomains or separate domains, based on your resources and goals.
Hreflang implementation
Correct, reciprocal hreflang tags or sitemap entries, including an x-default where appropriate.
Localised keyword research
Separate research for each language and market, rather than one translated keyword list.
Native-language content
Pages written or adapted by people fluent in Turkish and English, with local examples and terminology.
Market-level reporting
Visibility and traffic tracked separately for each market, so one market cannot hide problems in another.
How we work
Step 01
Map the markets
We agree which languages and countries matter and what each version of the site should achieve.
Step 02
Fix the structure
URLs, hreflang, canonicals and redirects are set up or corrected so search engines can pair pages properly.
Step 03
Localise
Keyword research and content are handled market by market, with a native-speaker review of every page.
Step 04
Monitor
We watch for the wrong version ranking, missing return tags and indexing differences between markets.
What we do not promise
Working across markets brings its own uncertainties:
- We do not guarantee rankings in any country or language.
- Hreflang is a signal, not a command. Google can still choose a different version in some cases, and we will tell you when that happens.
- We do not provide certified or legal translation. Our work is SEO content and localisation.
Where it sits in our packages
Multi-market and multilingual SEO with hreflang is part of the Summit package, because it touches structure, content and reporting at once. Smaller hreflang fixes can be raised in any technical audit.

Frequently asked questions
What is hreflang and do we need it?
Hreflang is an annotation that tells search engines which language and region each version of a page is meant for. If your site has the same content in English and Turkish, or separate versions for different countries, it helps Google show the right one to each searcher. A single-language site serving one market does not need it.
Should we use subfolders, subdomains or separate domains?
Each option can work when implemented properly. Subfolders such as /en/ and /tr/ are usually the simplest to manage and share authority across languages. Separate country domains send a strong local signal but need more resources to build up. We recommend a structure based on your markets, your team and your existing site rather than a fixed rule.
Can we not just translate our existing pages?
Translation is a starting point, but search behaviour differs between markets. The terms people use, the questions they ask and the proof they look for can change between London and Istanbul. We research each market separately and adapt the content, so each version reads naturally and targets what local customers actually search for.
Do you work with search engines and platforms used in Türkiye?
Google is the main search engine in both the UK and Türkiye, so most of our work focuses on it. Where relevant we also consider Yandex and Bing, along with the local directories and marketplaces that matter to Turkish customers. Our team works in both languages, so strategy and reporting can be delivered in either.
