Three centres, three kinds of search
In Edmonton, the shops on Fore Street and around Edmonton Green serve a dense, mixed community, and many searches are for everyday services: phone repairs, money transfers, groceries, hairdressers, driving schools. These searches are usually made on a phone within walking distance, so map pack position and accurate opening hours do most of the work.
Palmers Green is known for its large Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot communities, and the Green Lanes parades there are lined with bakeries, restaurants, estate agents, accountants and travel agents that serve them. Customers may search in Turkish or Greek as well as English, and they often hear about a business by recommendation or by the owner's name, then check the reviews before they visit.
Enfield Town, around Church Street and the market square, has a more traditional high street mix of solicitors, opticians, dentists, cafés and independent shops. Customers come in from the surrounding residential streets and tend to compare a few options before deciding.
Trades and the Lee Valley
The eastern side of the borough, around Ponders End, Brimsdown and Enfield Highway, has industrial estates full of builders' merchants, vehicle repairers, logistics and manufacturing firms. For these businesses, search is less about walk-in trade and more about being found by other companies and by homeowners across north London. A clear page for each type of work usually beats one long page that lists everything.
